When we happened upon what we now know as Seal Dove Hacienda, one could say it was love at first sight!

We didn’t even know what we needed and wanted until we saw SDH in the OH, as we have come to refer to it as. Well… we had ideas, but boy oh boy were those ideas set straight after a year and a half of property tours around Gold Country. We knew we wanted relatively flat land so we could effectively and efficiently start farming the second we made the plunge. We knew we needed high pressure pumping water so that we could have a nourished food forest year round, especially as life in California gets drier and drier, year after year. Our actual home was second to these two major deciding factors, but when we set our eyes on Seal Dove Hacienda, WE KNEW!

Our beautiful Seal Dove Hacienda home was formally home to a Parisian woman and her East Coast husband, added bonus to making this purchase! The home, boasting a vibrant yellow facade, arched entrances throughout, a beautiful terracotta roof and most notably a near 2,500 sq ft outdoor flagstone patio off the back of the home teleported us instantly to the Mediterranean! The former homeowner’s incredible European influences were immediately noticeable… the 42 bursting lavender bushes scattered around the five acres, bursting rose bushes in ever color, lots and lots of mint EVERYWHERE, butterfly bushes galore, wrapping wisteria and honeysuckle creating secret garden pathways and of course, an organic, free spirited method to landscape design and farming instantly stole our hearts. We knew this was our Seal Dove Hacienda. The name for our home came instantly, even before the ink was dry.

Now, how to appropriately convey every single amazing feeling we have about what we are doing in a BRAND?

Likely one of the most challenging, refreshing, exhilarating, scary, wonderful, emotion-FULL experiences we’ve ever had was developing a concept for our brand. You think you know, but you really have no idea until going through this process. Fortunately for us and Instagram, we happened upon the awesome designer - Rachel Maria Design, who walked us through molding our story into something tangible.

Four months later, lots of back and forth on email, a bazillion pinterest inspiration boards later, and we have our Seal Dove Hacienda brand!! Hope you all enjoy!!
