Wild Wild West!
Whelp, it has been a minute since we last updated y'all on what we've been up to!
Mostly because we took the month of December to frolic around Europe and got engaged in -15 degrees, Christmas morning in Rovaniemi, Finland!!
For the last couple of months, California has been seeing crazy, unheard of, unwitnessed rainfall! I would like to say everyones been enjoying it because, duh, everyone on the planet knows California suffers from droughts, but the rainfall has thrown mother nature into a frazzle dazzle! The coast has witnessed some crazy, home wrecking and life endangering mud slides. Taho and Northern California residents are literally plowing through 10 feet of snow just to get out or having tractors dig them out to catch some air. It has quite literally been the wild wild west out here!
So, what have we been up to?! Well apart from slaying away on spring preparation, Cory has quite literally been diverting water away from our house day after day! We strategically placed the mounds where water flows from to ensure our mound babies get the most of what California has to give and as you can see, our unfinished 50 feet of mound space is serving as a holding tank!
Our seasonal "creek" is rushing like a river and all that we are getting is providing the earth with so much of what it has been lacking! Rivers we have never seen before or known as a river are now rivers. Collins Lake down the road is so full that for the first time in years, they opened up the spillway. Oroville Dam, the second largest reservoir in California, which was on the brink of being dry as a bone, let out its spillway twice already!
We are soooo incredibly stoked for what spring will offer us and all in California! We look forward to sharing lots and lots and lots of food forest magic so soon!
