Bullards Bar Trail

Located only 10 minutes from Seal Dove Hacienda, we love visiting New Bullards Bar Reservoir. This gem has elevation of 2,000 feet in the Tahoe National Forest and is home to a 635 foot dam that provides water for irrigation, hydroelectricity production and recreation. Additionally, it boasts some epic hiking trails, including the near 17 mile long loop - Bullards Bar Trail. 

A fairly moderate hike that can take about five hours if completed, this past weekend, we enjoyed about 4 miles roundtrip, spectacular views of the icy green water and the pups certainly enjoyed stretching their legs. Nothing quite compares to the sweet sound of fall leaves crunching under your footsteps and the laughter and joy of great company!

Next time, we'll be sure to take the challenge of 17 miles on, but until then we'll soak in the sweet smell of fall.
